Champagne
Champagne is a renowned sparkling wine from the Champagne region in northeastern France. It is made using the traditional method (Méthode Champenoise), where secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle to create its signature bubbles. Champagne is primarily produced from three grape varieties:
- Chardonnay: For crisp, fresh, and mineral flavors.
- Pinot Noir: For body, structure, and red fruit flavors.
- Pinot Meunier: For roundness and fruitiness.
Champagne comes in various styles, ranging from Brut (dry) to Demi-Sec (sweet). It's often enjoyed as a celebratory drink, but can also pair well with a wide range of foods. The region's chalky soils, climate, and meticulous production process contribute to Champagne’s unique effervescence and flavour profile.
